- Stack
- Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, WhatsApp Business API
Interface shown with sample data.
The challenge
Clinics lose slots to no-shows and spend reception time on phone calls confirming appointments. Patients want to book without installing anything.
Who it’s for
Clinic receptionists, doctors, and patients booking from a phone.
Solution and product strategy
- Patients book from a shared link; no account or app needed.
- Reminders and reschedule options go out on WhatsApp the day before.
- Reception sees a live queue with expected wait times for walk-ins.
System architecture
The path a request takes through the system, and what each part is responsible for.
- 01Booking pageServer-rendered, under 100 KB of JavaScript
- 02SchedulerSlot rules per doctor, holidays, buffers
- 03MessagingWhatsApp Business API templates with delivery tracking
- 04QueueRealtime updates to the reception screen
What we’d measure
This is a concept project, so there are no client results to report. These are the numbers a real deployment would be judged on.
- No-show rate
- Calls handled by reception per day
- Time to book on mobile
What we learned
- Reminder wording mattered more than send time.
- Walk-ins need to be first-class, not an afterthought in a booking system.
